Bayshore Association: Building Community for the Next Fifty Years

After months of discussion, research, and feedback from Bayshore residents, the Bayshore Board of Directors is excited to announce plans for renovating the Bayshore tennis courts. While our courts have served the community well over many years, structural deficiencies make cosmetic repairs and maintenance no longer economically responsible (see image at the bottom). Further, Bayshore Association members have indicated a desire for additional and different neighborhood amenities. In response to these considerations, the Board’s plan to renovate the court area aims to:
  • Maintain and increase property values;
  • Build and support a sense of community;
  • Provide recreation and exercise opportunities.
Renovations, illustrated at the bottom, will be undertaken in two phases.

Phase 1 (Start: early 2025)
  • Replace court closest to large field with new tennis court and four pickleball courts. Two pickleball courts (illustrated in green) will be on each side of the tennis net. Increase space between court and fence. Replace tennis net. Purchase four portable pickleball nets and lockable storage cabinet.
  • Install new hitting backboard on fence closest to playground. Replace current backboard with fencing.
  • Install 4-foot fence (and 2 gates) to separate courts from Phase 2 amenities.
  • Set up court reservation system through Bayshore website.
Phase 2 (Start: completion of Phase 1)
  • Repurpose court closest to Baypoint Dr. with:
    • A bocce court
    • Raised beds
    • Basketball goal
  • Gravel area around bocce court and raised beds.
  • Paint basketball area.
Estimated costs are $120,000 for Phase 1 and $9000 for Phase 2. While current Association funds can cover Phase 2 costs, we aim to raise $120,000 to cover the cost of Phase 1. This corresponds to approximately $1000 per Bayshore Association household.
